Someone joked, "Why don't you make your feet smaller?"
The man laughed and said, "That would be foolish. If the shoes don't fit, I'll buy another pair."
Yet many of us do exactly that in life.
When we don't fit into a group, a friendship, a workplace, or a circle of people, we start changing ourselves. We hide our true thoughts, silence our voice, and pretend to be someone else just to be accepted.
But just as we should not cut our feet to fit a shoe, we should not lose ourselves to fit where we don't belong.
The right people, the right place, and the right opportunities will fit naturally.
Be yourself. Find your fit. Don't shrink who you are to make others comfortable.
