The King of Laughter Receives Padma Shri Posthumously

At Rashtrapati Bhavan, a touching moment brought tears and smiles together. The late Satish Shah was honoured with a Padma Award after his passing for the happiness, laughter, and unforgettable memories he gave to millions of Indians.
The award was presented by President Droupadi Murmu and received on his behalf by his cousin, Arvind Mamania.
For me, this moment brought back memories of my childhood. I still remember sitting at home and watching Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro on Doordarshan. Like millions of Indians, I grew up watching and enjoying the wonderful performances of Satish Shah. His expressions, timing, and natural humour could make anyone smile.
Satish Shah was not just an actor. He was a part of our childhood, our family evenings, and some of our most cherished television and movie memories. His simple humour and lovable characters connected with people of every age.
Although he is no longer with us, his work continues to bring joy to countless hearts. Great artists never truly leave us. They live on through their creations, their memories, and the smiles they leave behind.
This Padma Award is a fitting tribute to a man who spent his life spreading happiness. His laughter may have gone silent, but his legacy will continue to shine forever.
Rest in peace, Satish Shah. Thank you for the smiles, the laughter, and the memories. 🙏✨
